Your adventure starts before the engines do. We collect you from Málaga Airport, train station or hotel and transfer you to the group hotel, where you can unwind after your journey. As the evening settles in, the group gathers for a briefing — introductions, bike assignments, route overview, and everything you need to know for the days ahead. The night ends with a proper Spanish meal together: the first of many.

The first riding day immediately drops you into the sweeping hills and embalses of Guadalteba. Scenic mountain roads climb through the Axarquía foothills and into the Sierra Nevada, the landscape changing from Mediterranean scrub to high pine forest as the altitude rises. The destination is Lanjarón — a charming spa town known across Spain for its mineral springs, set at the entrance to Las Alpujarras. There is time in the afternoon to explore the old town and visit the Arab castle above the village, with the Sierra Nevada ridge as a backdrop.

One of the finest days on the route. The morning heads deeper into the Sierra Nevada, climbing to Trevélez — at over 1,600 metres, the highest village in Spain, and famous throughout the country for its air-cured ham and unhurried Alpujarran character. From Trevélez the route crosses fertile valleys and descends gradually into Jaén province, arriving at Cazorla in the afternoon. Wedged dramatically between limestone cliffs, Cazorla is the gateway to the largest protected natural park in Spain. The Guadalquivir River rises here, and the surrounding roads through waterfalls and ancient pine forest set the tone for tomorrow.

Today is spent almost entirely inside the Parque Natural de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas — 210,000 hectares of empty roads, canyon gorges, and dense forest that make up the largest protected area in Spain. The route passes Torre del Vinagre for sweeping panoramic views across the park, and follows the shore of the Tranco Reservoir before climbing back into the hills. The afternoon arrives in Úbeda — a UNESCO World Heritage Renaissance town built in warm golden sandstone. Plaza Vázquez de Molina is one of the finest Renaissance squares in Spain, and the El Salvador Chapel beside it is genuinely extraordinary. Most visitors to Spain never find Úbeda. You have a whole evening here.

Leaving Úbeda the route heads south through the Sierra Mágina — a mountain range of olive groves and rolling hills that forms the natural boundary between Jaén and Granada provinces. The road climbs steadily before reaching the Alpine ski village atop the Sierra Nevada, where the air is noticeably cooler and the views in every direction are exceptional. From there, a long, rewarding descent brings you down off the mountain and into Granada in the late afternoon. One of the finest city approaches on two wheels in Andalusia — the Alhambra appears on its red hill as the city spreads out below you. The day everyone talks about. The route west from Granada passes through Loja before entering the Parque Natural Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama — a protected mountain range with roads that are empty, well-surfaced, and consistently spectacular. The final approach to Ronda is the highlight of the whole tour: the road climbs the escarpment in a series of switchbacks that deliver you to the edge of the Tajo gorge, 700 metres of air below the famous New Bridge. Ronda rewards exploration — the bullring, the cliffside old town, the views from the Alameda del Tajo park. Take the evening slowly.

The morning starts with the descent off Ronda's escarpment. The route heads southwest through the Parque Natural Sierra de Grazalema, passing the white villages of Zahara de la Sierra and Grazalema — the former perched above a reservoir with a Moorish castle rising above the waterline, one of the most photographed villages in Andalusia. These roads are technical, rewarding and always over too quickly. From the natural park the road drops to the Atlantic coast, arriving at Conil de la Frontera on the Cádiz coastline. Pristine beaches, whitewashed old town streets, and the Roche watchtower above the cliffs. After days in the mountains, the Atlantic feels like a reward.
